Northern England & Scotland Birthday party Run

25th/26th April 2009.
On Saturday 25th, 11 Gilbern's and 2 tin tops at the Havethwaite & Lakeside Railway.
All received the Birthday run car plates and a dragon shaped biscuit and some owners had a trip on the railway before heading back towards Greenodd.
From there it was via Torver, and a few twisty lanes, to the Coniston boat club and the memorial of Bluebird and Donald Campbell to meet the others.
After a bite to eat, we split up to explore, before making our way to the Castle Green Hotel for a few drinks and the birthday cake.
Many thanks to Sue Brind for that, it was lovely. This was followed by the meal and a few more drinks.

On Sunday morning the remaining 6 Gilbern's and 1 tin top, met up at Holker Hall, the home of Lord and Lady Cavendish, and the Lakeland Motor Museum.
The Motor museum has displays of over 100 years of motoring, a recreation of a 1930's garage and the Campbell's Bluebird exhibition.
After visiting the museum, we stopped for lunch and then went off to explore the house and gardens, and then finally heading home.
I would like to finish by saying a big thanks to Hutch and Richard for a great weekend. Diane McEwan and Gareth Brooks.
