Gilbern GB plates

Postby Paul Yates » Thu May 29, 2008 10:54 am

It seems obvilous when you think about it, GilBern, Gil..Bern, G B, and coupled with the Gilbern "G", and with a dragon on the top, is it another winner, or what?
Cast in alloy, none of this stick on rubbish, and just big enough to go on the back of the boot, anyone else interested?
Calls, e.mails or postings, let me know.

Count me on Paul. I was hoping the Club would re order some of the original badges that were available some years back. If you are looking for someone to produce try Dragonfly Screen Printing they are on the web and do a large range of badge work at a very realistic price. I think with the metal car badges the design work is done in the U.K. but production is done in the far east We had some for the Devon Vintage Car Club of which I am Sec and they really were good.

The person who used the phrase "stick on rubbish" may have done so prematurely, as there are others in the club who may balk at the cost of an alloy plate.
Pattern costs alone run into hundreds, its the dragon that is the problem, so a few tasteful "self adhesive" (more up market than stick on) plates have been commisioned for the impecunious to savour.
Should profits soar, a return to the original plan is possible.
NB the plates may not be in the style approved by the Construction and Use Regulations, but generally, Gilberns are not either.

Thanks Derek,
Yes i've also seen these items appear recently which are not endorsed by GOC, they are 'replica' items and have all been reported to ebay. Hopefully they will agree to removing them in the same way they have for previous fake items.
As you know our official gilbern items are only available through the GOC, via REG alia(Paul)

.....of which the latest line is the new Gilbern "GB" badge, incorporating not only the Gilbern "G", but the name and a dragon too!
At £2 (plus sae) they are the mutts nuts, on sale now and especially at National Day next weekend.

Perhaps when the Committee get hold of eBay to complain, Reg could confiscate the offending keychains, they're rather more tasteful than the St Christopher badges. Anyhow, wasn't St Christopher retired a few years ago, to play golf for the rest of eternity, or whatever redundant saints do...

Speaking of Reg Alia, when is he going to show us a piccie of this 'mutts nutts' GB badge?

Thanks admin, what a gent, what a great design.
Talking of which, Norman Foster, me, both great designers, him knighted, and Seb Coe, another one, what has he done apart from running around in inappropriately tight shorts, I do that when Mrs Reg and me have a night in, and I've checked the honours list again, nothing!

Paul,
just  WOW, I hope you have a good supply for the National weekend, of these new 'sticky backed plastic' self adhesive quality badges.

Destined to be yet another worthy collectors item of yours? :D

Paul,

These plates look really good, but what I'd like, what I'd really really like is a sticker to go in my everyday road cars rear screen that says " My other car is a Gilbern"

How bout it :D

Cheers,
Wayne.

Hi Wayne

My every day car is a Gilbern. I need a sticker on the back which reads, Its a Gilbern, so stop slowing down on the motorways and boxing me in to find out what it is!!!!!! Language edited.
