My first ride...

Postby Whiskybob42 » Sat Mar 28, 2020 3:47 pm

This is a bit of a long shot but I was wondering if my Uncle John's Gilbern Invader is still around. Uncle John, John Owen Williams, took me from Barmouth to Birkenhead when I was about nine or ten in his new blue Gilbern. Quite a memorable ride for me as it was my first trip in a proper sports car. One thing I remember is the overdrive switch being flicked on.
I have asked my cousin, of the same age as me, if he had any info or images but drew a blank.
Would be interested to hear if the car is still on the road.
Very best.

Hi Robert, As I am no longer one of the club historians I no longer have all the records, but a John Williams living in Birkenhead did have a Gilbern which is now living in Ormskirk.
For confirmation of details I suggest you contact Kevin Bennet, details in Rarebit. Do you have any reg number or part of?
Gavin
