Famous Gilbern Owners

Postby Gilb » Wed Aug 26, 2009 10:22 pm

At our South London and Kent meeting on Monday, we were discussing 'famous' Gilbern owners over the years... so far we have:

Prince Charles (Gilbern on loan)
Iggy Pop
Alvin Stardust
Lady Marks (of M&S)

So, any more for any more????

Not forgetting there are budding famous sportspersons like Tom French too, but that could lead to a completely new topic, as i know there is a smattering of famous footballers too!

Hi Guys
I wonder if you are all missing the point with celebrities and Gilberns. If you own one you are a celebrity.
I have just finished filming with my G.T. over several days for a German T.V. company in Devon and Cornwall. The Devon Vintage Car Club of which I am Secretary turned out a dozen cars for 26 days filming. When I submmited the list of some 100 plus cars from our register the Director did not choose the Gilbern. When I turned up as Club co-ordinater in the G.T. he insisted he must have it and then used it for a lot of the close camera shots. In about 12months I expect it to be on German T.V. Z.D.F Channel. The film 'Let there be Love' is a love story by Rosamunde Pilcher revolving around a Classic Car Rally. I gather it is sort of Mills and Boon stuff. Any way its good fun and the pay is good and we were fed very well even if it was for 12 hour days.
So have Gilbern and be a Celebrity.
Maurice
