Hello to all, i was wondering what settings other mk2 owners have on their shocks. I have recently had all the suspension on my mk2 rebuilt with poly bushes, although the AVO shocks were fairly new so didn't need replacing. They are now set 2 clicks from fully wound in, so a firm ride setting the handling really is good but very bumpy! When i wound the adjusters right out to "soften" things up the car just ended up so bouncy & really speaking even worse. Are the AVO shocks the best option or do they just need time to wear in a bit more? I am interested to know the other member's thoughts,

Hi Chris,
If you have the "AVO Classics" they are adjustable in compression and rebound simultaneously with the one knob. To control the damping effect properly you really need something like a "Protech" shock, http://www.protechshocks.co.uk/, which are adjustable in both compression and rebound separately to control the "bouncyness" better. But, at twice the price, they are the shocks that
I would be looking at a softer spring rate first, as it's the cheapest option considering you already have the shocks. I'd try somthing like 100-150lbs with your hardest setting, especially if you don't carry rear passengers often and drive with an empty boot.
