Estate repaint

Postby gordav » Tue Aug 24, 2010 7:52 pm

Hi, a few of you out there know my car well she`s finally had the repaint.I`ve got rid of the horrible spray on vinyl roof!!There have been a couple of modifications that I`ve carried out notably the repostioning of the fuel filler from the rear to the side of the car,GT40 rear lights, removed side repeaters and blended door handles.Hopefully the link I`ve set up will take you to photo`s http://photobucket.com/gordav65

Dave it's looking great... A really nice bright yellow..

Like the door handles, how did you get them to work :?: :?:

Have been thinking of replacing the filler cap myself with one of those aerocap typr things, but in the side of the wing a bit lower down ..
Does it make it easier to fill :?:

Keep us posted as you put all the bits back on, especially when you sort the window rubbers out...

I did the fuel cap mod on my old estate (BAF 910K) and it was certainly a lot better. Mine had the cap on the panel behind the rear wheel, much lower than that in the photo.
The car is still around and is in dry storage.. It could be roadworthy in a weekend but I'm not sure if the present owner plans to ever put it back on the road or not...

Hi Grahame, yes it certainly does make filling up so much quicker. As for the door handles I`ve just fibreglassed over the original ones because the actual lever is behind them ,so it looks very TVR`ish. When I finally get round to fitting my central locking kit and alarm I might well do away with the drivers door lock..I will keep you posted on the window rubber front and will post more pics when more things go back on.Windscreen is on order and it`s just a matter of waiting.
