Loton Park Hill Climb video

Postby Tree man » Tue Sep 28, 2010 10:52 am

Below is a link to the video of me a Loton Park this weekend. Another PB (more silly laughing) and the fastest road going 'classic car' at the meeting. Best if you change the resolution from 360 to 480 (option box in corner)

I had a touch of the shakes when I got out of the car due to the adrenelin, great fun.

The springs are 675lb and lowered at the front front. However, its a coil over conversion so an exact comparison to the a lever arm system may not be possible. The rears are 325lb and again lowered plus I relocated the trailing arms to keep the the original geometry. I arrived at these figures after trying several different rates. Admittedly on anything other than A roads the springs are on the side of being too hard especially when combined with 55 profile tyres semi slick tyres (very stiff side walls). I'm hoping to address this by having another set of wheels with 70 profile tyres for road use that would have a greater cushioning affect.
Ground clearance is now pathetic but I can still carry passengers as the stiffness of the springs is more than a match for their weight (no bloaters or speed humps though  )
