Greetings!

Postby Eurobob » Sat Sep 25, 2010 3:54 pm

Newbie here, saw the club members on the news the other night and its got me thinking of gilberns again! I have liked the look and the history of the cars for many years and since i sold my karmann ghia a few years back i feel there is a hole in my life (and my garage!).

Im very interested in looking at some of these cars up close at some point and will hopefully be lucky enough to pick up a sad and sorry project to bring back to life (as i did with the KG).

Any advice or pointing in the direction of spares when i do find the right project will be appreciated! :D

A good place to start looking for a project is the Classified section of this forum.
I post all the ads from the Club magazine there toward the end of each month plus other members, who also put up links to cars they have found on the web.
Enthusiasm is always welcome.

Yup, ex welder-fabricator by trade so looking forward to getting a project and getting at some steel, have all my own gear etc so should be a good learning curve as cut my teeth on VW beetles/campers & KG. I have a beetle chassis/donor to move on as well so best i get that on fleabay ASAP as filling garage!

Hi, I might have just what your looking for and only live down the road, Caerleon.
Have a Mk 1 invader and no time to work on it. If you want to discuss give me a bell on 07979323446.
