Some quick questions..

Postby Camo » Tue Jan 11, 2011 5:02 pm

Hi guys,

I have sent my subs off today so will be officially a member very soon but would like some quick answers in the mean time please...
1) Is there a manual for the Mk3 Invader, ie covering wiring diagrams etc
2) Is there a parts list covering all the relevant Ford parts like brake calipers etc?
3) Is there a brake line kit available or is there one similar in sizes that could be adapted or should I go about making my own ?
4) Steering parts, is it best to try and source these or get mine powder coated etc, if replacing where is a good source of parts?
I am used to MGs, Triumphs, Jaguars and Land-rovers where every part is available from somewhere !

I have heard great things about the GOC spares dept, I hope it's true as I need all the rubber perishables, brakes, suspension, switches..... the list is endless !

Thanks
Stuart
I'm going to the garage, I may be sometime....

Hi Stuart, Welcome to the club, where you don't have to be mad to be a member but it does help!!!
I am the newish spares secretary, when you get all your membership data through you will be given my e-mail address, amongst other 'useful' info.
A short answer to your questions is that you can get just about everything you will need to rebuild your car to what ever standard you wish.
I am more familiar with the MK2 than the MK3 but we have many 'experts' that we can call on if necessary.
We have a parts list and a drivers hand book with a rough wiring diagram. I can supply stainless steel hoses but most members make their own metal sections themselves.
It would probably be best if you made a list and let me have it then I could tell you what I have and the prices.
Gavin

That's great news, I will think about the list...I hoping to have the engine and gearbox out on Friday which should make it all much easier
So far the worst problem I've had is a split pin on the clutch pedal, rest has gone very easy so far..
