Goodwood Sprint 1st August 2015

Postby Fareham GT » Tue Aug 04, 2015 8:35 am

If anybody would like to see my exploits at Goodwood in AMJ at the Brighton & Hove Motor Clubs Eagle Sprint, then please search www.youtube.co.uk for 'Goodwood MSA 2015' and there you should find an interesting film put together by Alex 'The Film' Reardon and his glamorous assistant Amelia.

It is of my 2 timed runs in the afternoon, the first of which was 127.32 and the second 126.08 - Enjoy!

Very nice to watch! :D
I especially like the cry of 'come on' at 4min 47sec
Can any car turn up for these meetings, or does the car need a roll-cage?

Would like to see more videos like this promoted on here!

To take part in events as sprints and hill climbs you have to be a MSA licence holder, cost £43, you have to have a MSA compliant car and you have to have submitted an entry with the appropriate fee to the organising club. I did a series of articles last year in the Rarebit of what gloves, helmet and what overalls are required. If it is something you would like to do, then contact Chris Dennis the clubs Competition Secretary who I am sure will explain all.

Damn! I meant to be there... (completely forgot) Are you doing another at
Goodwood soon Brian?
Nice to see the times coming down! - Have you managed to lose ten seconds? (And
if so, where?)

Hi John,

My next time out will be at Wiscombe for the cup meeting on 6th September, I have also entered as an end of season event, the Tunbridge Well Motor Club event at Goodwood on the 17th October, so hopefully I will be at that if I get an entry all OK. Questions were asked on Saturday, where is John and Nev?

Brian

Great video ..... felt I was in the car too !

A good " T cutting " might shave quite a few seconds off your time ................ !!

Next time ( !!!! ) can you mount the camera on the roll cage so we can see the instruments, gear lever and your hands working away at the wheel. Liked the " donk " at the beginning ....... was it you running over the start marshal's foot, or hitting his red plate thingy ?

Looking forward to more.

Mike
