Wayne, 2.5 sounds about right (I've never had a Ford V6 though, thankfully) but a quick call to Specialised Engines en route might be prudent because you can easily adjust the pressure on the run. My view is that for carbs volume is more important than pressure so if there's a large diameter fuel line pressure is less critical because you don't really need that much pressure to open the needle valve. High pressure is usually only required to compensate for low volume.
BTW I discovered this problem when the diaphragm in a pressure reg failed and the car wouldn't run below five thousand rpm because it was massively over-fuelled. The raw petrol flowing out of the carbs over the hot exhaust was a dead giveaway!
Have a good trip!
Peter

Re: Gilby just passed it's Mot 1st time
Scotland trip was fantastic.
We did the 380 mile trip up in 5hrs 45mins having 2 stops on route for engine check and rest stop, then again as we neared Edinburgh for fuel. The car ran great. Taking it steady on the way up running around 70-75mph.
The Guy from the B&B said I could park the car on his drive, so on a went and clunk, one exhaust got knocked off by a lump on concrete where his gates bolt into the drive. It was standing proud by 3 inches and I didn't see it! So half hour later it's all bolted back up. Good job I took trolley jack and all tools needed.
Unfortunately it must have shifted something because on the next day when we headed off for the Gilbern meet at a pub the exhaust note got louder and louder.
I explained all this to Hutch the joint organiser of the weekend and as it happened he lives 3 mins drive from our B&B and had ramps, so it was arranged that I'd got around that evening and see what we could do. With the help of Hutch and Gareth and a length of spare exhaust pipe a sleeve was made up to go over the offending joint and extra clamps put on to sort everything out.
Mobile again!
An article should appear in Rarebit so I wont steal someones thunder here.
Just to say our car got us there and back. We did around 800 miles and returned 25 mpg. Even coming home at a swift 80-85 down the A1 ( following all the other traffic you know!)
We got lots of waves or thumbs up from other road users and got questioned about the car at various stops.
So now I know the cars reliable I can continue with other mods and improvements. Next is to fit four pot calipers to the front.
Wayne.

Hi Wayne
What are you thinking of fitting? I have 4 pot ex disco ones fitted by philip Ivimey and they are superb and cheap too. Reports on the princess ones are not too good.
