Richard I get full recovery to any UK destination, plus home start free through Peter Best Insurance - no need to pay twice for insurance and breakdown cover. Peter Best also offer unlimited mileage classic car cover for the same price as up to 3,000 miles - just as well for me as already done just over 20,000 miles since National Day in my Mark 2

I'm not sure that it is a case of not bothered, but more the case that I think many of us have the breakdown through our insurance, so dont know which may or maynot be best.
To be honest I have never considered the AA or the RAC for my breakdown cover on my classics, I always used to arrange my classic insurance through Lancaster (owned by the MG Owners Club) and full breakdown was always included, and my daily car has breakdown as part of it's warrentee, or again is available as part of my insurance if I needed it, so I have never had to arrange it seperately.
I would be most interested to see how it compares price and service wise between the seperate companies AA, RAC, Green Flag etc, and the built in to the insurance ones, especially the classic cover.
Please keep us informed.

Re: AA or RAC.....Give us a clue!!
Not having the luxury of a modern everyday drive, my C-MAX is 6 years old the breakdown cover under the warranty is long expired. I therefore have "personal" cover via the RAC which covers me in whatever car I'm driving or a passenger. Therefore it covers my two hobby cars as well. Cost about £70 a year. I've uesd them twice in the last 5 years, both on hobby cars, and the service has been good. Incidently you can get RAC cover via the Tescos voucher scheme ie 4 times the face value of any token you get.
I used to have Green Flag but the one time I tried to use them after a minor accident they insisted on charging me to recover the car. I did not renew after that.
I also have included breakdown cover via my Gilbern Insurance (Via Peter Best) so perhaps I'm over covered but this is one area I would prefer the best service rather than lowest price.
