Hi there,
My GT is going to get some fresh air this summer but I'm looking for a heavyweight car cover to put over it when it's parked outside in the street. Can anyone recommend something suitable ... presumably for an MGB GT?

Re: GT car cover
Hi Al,
I have bought several car covers over the years, most are not water proof and fall to bits after a few months in the sun. The best I have come across and continue to use is made by street wize, they are heavy duty, vented, have elasticised corners and have a soft interior that does not mark the car. You do need to buy the water proof version rather that the water resistant one, you can pick these up for about £28 on eBay which is a good price as I have paid £65 for others that are complete crap. The medium version fits my Invader like a glove, I think the GT is same size but you will need to check this.
Regards,
john

Re: GT car cover
Hi John,
Thanks for the note. I was going to get one of these from Classic Additions:
http://www.classicadditions.com/index.p ... 5da0d8c6bd
They list a GT but at £148. So wandering if I'm throwing good money away!?

Re: GT car cover
I used to use the Street Wise version on my MGBGT when it used to live outside. For the relitively small amount of money it cost me on EBay it has never torn or leaked.
The only mod I made to it was to fit a couple of extra eyelets around it to make sure it was well tied down to the car, as if the wind gets under it, it can be a real pain.
I still have it at the back of the garage and use it as a dust cover over one half of the estate when I am working on the other half, and it is still as good as new, even though it is 5 or 6 years old
A friend bought an expensive one for his TR2, but it rubbed the paint to a matt finish on the wing tops, and he was not at all impressed.
