An ultimately very successful day at MIRA near Nuneaton, unfortunately no vids as cameras are not allowed on site (in case you snap the latest Jag, or army vehicle being tested). The practice runs were a good few seconds of what I had expected, especially after all the winters work and expense. Other people found the same and it was traced to the finishing line being 50 yards further than it should have been! The timed runs naturally were faster with the finish in the right place and I cracked the 100mph (up from 93mph last year) as well as beating my PB by getting under the 60 sec barrier. The car really handles well and certainly has more poke than last year. Only one hairy moment when I nearly lost it on the corner near the control tower at 70mph - a bit scary as even though it looks flat off of the tarmac MIRA is not kind as demostrated by the Peugeot 305 that ended up on it's roof after trying that bit too much.
Off the Wiscombe on Friday for another thrash around, I'll have some pictures to show this time.
