Good day. I am Barry and I bought an Invader Mark 3 about 9 months ago and immediately joined the GOC. The car is chassis number M30048. There is an old photo of the car on the club website 'World' page. The car is unfortunately in a worst state now as it spent a few years in a paddock with a broken side window letting the weather in. However, that was part of the attraction as I was after a project vehicle. I was also after something a little different to the norm. The Invader fits the bill being one of apparently only two in Australia. Other sports vehicles that I have are a fully restored TD MG which was my fathers pride and joy and a 1989 MX5 which is my airport car as I work interstate.
I look forward to learning more about how best to restore the vehicle and am very keen to learn more about the history of M30048 if possible.

Greetings Barry and welcome..
Best of luck with the Gilbern, and you will soon discover the more interesting facets of Gilbern ownership when you start working on it.
Good luck with the restoration, and there is always someone on here that should be able to help with any of the more obscure bits .
Please keep the Mk3 Historian up to date with pictures and progress..
All the best
Grahame

Re: New to Gilblog
Thank you for your kind words Grahame. I will taking in whatever information and advise that I can. I have collected just about every magazine that I can find with the mark 3 in it - the clubs list is a great help. I have a number other jobs to take care of before I start on the Gilbern but am looking forward to getting in to it. I hope to get to meet the other Gilbern owners in Australia in due course.
Yes, I will make a point of doing the photo's and sending them in.
Regards,
Barry

G'day Barry, welcome to the forum.
I own a Gilbern Genie, that is the throes of a full body off restoration and upgrade.
I'm based in Corowa, near Albury/Wodonga, so maybe when the cars are ready we can have the first Aussie club meet
Richard

Re: New to Gilblog
Good day Richard,
Thanks for introducing yourself. Unfortunately I do not get up you way very much at all but I will certainly look you up if heading that way. It be great to see your car. We reside near Warragul, West Gippsland. I am going to be some time before I get my Gilbern going (like years) so we gave plenty of time to organise the 'Australian Chapter' club meet. But it will be something to have the cars together one day.
Regards,
Barry
