I am having trouble with the drivers door lock.
I have taken it apart as the barrel does not move with the key. On inspection the barrel is fine but the mechanism that connects the barrel to the door lock gets stuck when you turn the key. I have tried to adjust it but with no luck. You can lock the door from the inside but you cannot lock it with the key.
Can anyone help and does anyone have a diagram how the mechanism of door linkage.

Re: Door locks
I am not sure if there is much difference but you don't say which model and or outer door handle type id giving the problem?
If it's a Mk3 with Stag handles (as most are) I will take picture of mine later today.
I do remember having the similar problem after changing the lock on a Mk2, memory serves that was something to do with long rod to the internal handle being bent keeping a slight tension on the lock.
Some tips are:
With door open, use a Philips screw driver to move the lock mechanism to the closed position, then you sit by the open door and get a good look.
Disconnect the inner handle rod and check for key operation.
Then reconnect the inner handle and recheck.

That's the same as the Mk2/Estate, so recollection and the procedural advise are all relevant.
Might also be worth emailing Greybags (Estate still in the pre-paint stage) for some pics or arrangement diags.

Re: Door locks
Happy to help, have tried to take some photos, but just at the stage of getting the door glass in so the channel is a bit in the way..
Here are a couple of pictures of how my locks catches have finished up. I am not too sure if this is the "Gilbern" way as none of the locks or handles worked when I got the car and several of the bars were missing, so I have had to make my own..
It took me 4 days of bending and modifing to get both door handles and locks to work, but now they do a nice click clunk job ..

I found the bar that goes across the back of the door lock, that links the interior handle lock bar and the key lock bar were both slightly bent on mine, and when corrected worked better. It looks like a bit that might bend over time and stop it from setting the lock properly ..
I hope the pictures help, but not easy to get the camera inside the door and everything is now sprayed with white water proof grease as well..

Re: Door locks
Thanks for the photos but my set up is different. Mine looks weak compared to your lock mechanism as the rods are thinner and there is no spring. However, I will use your photos to try and adjust the setup.
