History of Invader Estate GVO 682 K

The chassis no is 1177.

I've just found the file relating to the car, while clearing out papers. There are dozens of letters.

It is fascinating - dad was unhappy with the quality of the car, and raised about 45 items (I think he was kitchen-sinking it), and the dispute ended up with RAC inspections and was moving to the High Court. In the end we went on holiday to the area after they went through, and my parents went to the factory every day for a week and evetually got the car back.

There's correspondence with "Gilbern Cars Limited and Batching Plant Ltd". What is "Batching Plant"?

In principle I'm happy for the whole lot to go into the archives, if you collect this sort of stuff. It would make an interesting chapter in a book - both sides should have closed down the dispute rather than getting into legal expenses which were a significant fraction of the car's value.

These are a few of the more juicy nuggets. I have redacted his name.

Ferdinand.

As the Estate Historian this is possibly one of the most exciting finds I have seen concerning the estate models, and your very kind offer of donating to the club's Estate archives is most generous.

We have spoken in the past and I have sent you my home address, and look forward to adding these files to the cars history.
