This is a notice that will appear in Rarebit later this month. There's not a lot of time until the event and so it's a good idea to repeat it here and to add the booking details.
We have a choice of events over this Bank Holiday weekend. This one in the East Midlands is on Saturday and Sunday, Stoneleigh is on Sunday and Monday and so it's possible to attend both!
Howard Wadsworth has told us of an invitation to have a Club presence at The Donington Historic Festival on Saturday 30th April/ Sunday 1st May. We’ve applied for a club space and we've now received the booking details for the Club offer.
They state:
"Your unique club code is GILDHF11. This gives entry to two people for the whole weekend (April 30th/May 1st) for just £30 (i.e. £15 each) when they book in advance, as opposed to the on-the-gate entry price of £22 per person per day (£36 for the weekend). Tickets can be booked through http://www.doningtonhistoric.com or by calling the 24-hour ticket hotline 0844 873 7355. You must quote this code and book in advance to secure the discount."
For more information on the Donington Historic Festival, see http://www.doningtonhistoric.com
Please contact Howard Wadsworth on 01 282 773108 if you would like to share the space and the savings!

Re: Donington Historic Festival: 30th April - 1st May
Hi Victor
I have booked my tickets and am looking forward to the event. I see from the event map the car clubs will be inside the cicuit - have we had any details about when to arrive and directions yet?
Thanks Andy

Hi Andy/ everyone.
I've not seen any joining instructions yet, and so I've emailed the organiser's contact, Karen Coe, and will post the reply.
For info, Karen Coe is on 01 379 678 787 and email: karen@doningtonhistoric.com
Best regards, Vic

It get's better... I went back to 'mail' and found a reply from Karen Coe! She writes:
"Directions to parking area
Please enter the circuit at the main entrance (airport end) and then turn right and follow the signage ‘Invited Car Clubs’ around to the tunnel, through the tunnel and follow the rolled hard-core road to the gated entrance to Invited Car Clubs allocated parking area.
There will be a marshal to escort you from the gate to your individual club pitch. If your club hasn't requested an individual pitch, you will be parked with the mixed marques.
Registered marques only!
Please note, only cars that represent registered club marques will be allowed into the infield display parking. Any club members turning up in contemporary road cars that are not of the same marque as the registered club will be directed to the public car park. If you have a contemporary road car that does represent your club (e.g. a current Jaguar or Mini etc.) then you will, of course, be directed through to the Invited Clubs area."
So, anyone who has a 2011 Gilbern will also be admitted!
I hope this is useful, and that you have a great weekend. Vic
