This was originally a very well prepared car/conversion and glad to report that it seems to be with new owner who has applied for membership.
Unfortunately the applicant has not supplied his name, address or email address on the form!!
If you read this please respond to me and I will pass the details on.

I met the new owner of this convertible last month at our last area meeting in South Wales.
He has bought it to restore, as it needs a full refurb including a respray, and new hood.
He only lives 4 miles from me too so will keep you updated or he will himself when he joins our club
regards Gareth

I've read about conversions by club members some years ago and have anticpated seeing
one at a recent national.
are there any photos of the car/s and any information on the success of a soft top.
I think that unless the side window frames are removed the conversion would look out of
balance with the hood off or down but with the space frame design flexing wouldn't be a problem.
Can any one give information on those projects.

Re: invader convertible
This one appeared on the cover of Rarebit April 98..
Was up for sale late last year ..
Quite a nice looking conversion ...
Wonder what the Estate would look like

Was up for sale late last year ..
Full body off rebuild in 1990, with complete photographic documentation. Fitted with 2.8 injection Cologne engine from Granada with full SS exhaust.
Last on the road in 2002 and garaged since. However, in need of some TLC particularly to the interior trim.
Finished in British Racing Green but would now benefit from a respray.

I think there are two MkIII convertibles - One by Colin Pascoe and the white one you're referring to.
Hope this helps

Re: invader convertible
What is being overlooked here is that the latest and best Gilbern Road Test Book includes a four page article on the mk3 "drophead" and that my solicitors will be in touch with Red for breach of copyright PDQ!

Re: invader convertible
Theres a surprise
Re: invader convertible
Thanks Grahame for the photo. I must have missed the for sale ad.
I assume the hood comes right over to the the front screen and is held down with studs somehow.
difficult to see from the photo.
Can the current owner be able to update the forum with the photos mentioned.
From the replies there are a couple more out there and how about a separate register for them.
(perhaps not).
Did they too do a similar rear end chop just to the rear of the B pillar
Any chance of photos of them and whats the chance of them being at this years national

Reg
I have referred to my legal advisers and they indicate that you are a tight .rsed t.sser.
For the more rational members I attach a picture of the Phoenix.
I will ask Colin for a copy of his chop -top.
Cheers
Red
PS Vol 2 has a much better picture!
