Any idea of condition? I cannot make a viewing before hand but have registered for E-bid. I am being cheeky really, as I cant see either within reach of my current funds!!!
Their price guide says 6-9k for the estate and 7-10k for the coupe. I think this seems pretty optimistic. Given that a value is what someone will pay on the day, any ideas what you think they should fetch. (dont forget to add the 32% vat and buyers fee!!!)
Wish I could have taken on the 'rotten' estate in Warrington, but I want to stay married

Anyone think the model description seems a bit familiar?

Ah ha, just found the coupe in the gallery, looks well known to the club.
Are they from someone's estate??
I guess they have been through the sales in Rarebit, but have not seen them in the classic press in the last couple of months. (Unless it was the 'collector' who was selling up?)

I was thinking more that they had copied much of the description directly from the club website, (click on Models link to the left.

Watched the sale :
4k for the coupe and 3k for the estate + commission and tax
Both provisional I believe.

A bit less than the guide prices then and I would have thought that the estate would have been more sought after.

Re: Gilberns for auction at Simon Charles
I was surprised at the result as well. Time will tell what happened, I think the prices were provisional. I'll wait to see if they turn up in any of the classic press.
(It was plus 5% buyers premium and tax, not the 15% premium I originally thought).
On a personal note and opinion I felt the auctioneers were very lacklustre and did not make much of an effort to sell any of the cars. This view is shared by a friend who was selling his Caddie there (thats how I found the Gilberns looking at his listing). Not an auction house I would recommend if this was their normal standard.
