Accelerator foot pedal
Hi all,
Does anyone know where I can source an accelerator foot pedal for a MK1 Invader, looking for the under foot part with hinge that bolts to the floor. Existing acc. lever has a rubber/nylon roller on the bottom end, guessing this runs in groove on the underside of foot part. Looking to purchase new or used, difficulty I have at the moment is not sure what car they came from or even what they look like.
Thanx,
John

John,
try Melvyn Rutter Ltd., the Morgan parts dealer. In their catalogue (not online) you find an arrangement as used by Gilbern, though, marked "Cosmic", possibly the original manufacturer. On my Mk. III there is no grove on the pedal (making the arrangement a bit wobbly) and not even a roller on the linking lever. I wanted to improve on this, way I looked around for parts sources.

Do you think you could scan it and post a picture of it on here please because as you say the catalogue in not online, and I think there may a few who would like to see a possible improvement to the pedal.
Many thanks

Re: Accelerator foot pedal
Thanx Bruno,
Sc parts have an on-line dogalog for Austin Healeys (plus lots more), I wondered if this might be the original pedal, although the hinge appears to fix to the floor on the side, I assumed it would fix under the pedal. The following link takes you to the parts page http://www.scparts.co.uk/index/lang-2/l ... gtop=-2000

Re: Accelerator foot pedal
The original pedal does bolt to the floor, it has a smooth surface on the back and the rubber wheel runs up and down just fine.
The pedal also has a grease nipple protruding out of the left-hand end of the spindle. Over the decades my original pedal seized and 'disappeared'. during rebuild I machined up a new pedal to original pattern. If required I can provide a photo.

Hi Guys, I have tried to put some photo's on here but apparently need to reduce the resolution? I have the photo's in Picasa but cannot see where i can change the resolution. Any suggestions on this would be of help.

Re: Accelerator foot pedal
You should be able to link to the pictures in Picasa by using it's URL between the "Img" links at the top of the page.
That way you dont have to reduce the resolution and we can see nice big pictures ..
Hope this helps...

Re: Accelerator foot pedal
I didn't know that much about Picasa but have just created an account..
So .. load your picture up to Picasa, then go to your "my Photos" in Picasa, Click on the picture you want to load on here, and on the right hand side bar a "link to this photo" appears.
Click on this and 2 more boxes appear... Link and Embed object
Put a tick in the box that says "Image only (no link)" and select size large or medium
and then copy the URL in the embed obect box.
On you Gilblog message page click on the IMG box above your message box, and this will put (IMG) (/IMG) on you message.
Paste the URL you copied from Picasa between these 2 IMG boxes, and your picture will be displayed on the screen
Like this (img]http://lh6.ggpht.com/_Bu-lE0sEvkQ/S46QZSCa8FI/AAAAAAAAADA/_WtQlW_W3Us/s800/IMG_0196.JPG[/img)
This wont be seen when the message is displayed

Hopefully this will then display a photo something like this ..
Hope this helps
Grahame
P.S. Flikr is easier

Re: Accelerator foot pedal
Rocketman ..
You are using the "Link to this album" when you have more than one picture on the screen..
Click on just one of the pictures so that it is large and in the centre of the screen, then you will get the "Link to this photo" line ..
You are also not pasting the link between the 2 (IMG) (IMG) boxes, but after them
Can you delete the post with the errors please..
If you want any more help, please give me a ring and I will happily talk you through it.. My number is in the back of Rarebit ..
