MIRA

A quick report on my first event this year at MIRA. For those that don't know it is the 'motor industry research association' facilities near Nuneaton.
I was a bit cautious at the start as I was listening for every rumble and rattle after the winters rebuild but I shouldn't have worried as apart from not having enough fuel in the first run  the Genie performed very well. The suspension mods, engine rebuild and super sticky Kumho tyres meant the car handled very well and definately could have been driven harder.
It's very fast sprint venue with over 100mph acheivable on the straight coupled with long fast corners. I got up to 91mph and I reckon I could hit 95mph on another day. Very thrilling if you get it right!
I was in a classic class with a Alfa GTV, Hillman Imp and a Jaguar D Type replica. The results were a handicap system which I happened to win by getting the closest to my handicap beating the next car by one one hundreth of a second. Even better was being the fastest classic car on the day :D
No pictures I'm afraid as none allowed at MIRA. However I'm at Mallory park on the 29th May and shall take some pictures and post a link to them
