I think this is the Mk.111 that was advertised in the Rarebit Volume 24, No.11 page 24 by Steve Boreham in November 2009. If it is, it was then registered SB9404. I note the seller on ebay is located at Orpington, I think Steve was based in Devon. Perhaps this case needs to be examined by Dr. Whitty of Crowborough?

This is indeed the V8 Mk3 that Steve used to own. I have been tracking it since Steve sold it. It was on ebay a couple of months ago and I think this person bought it hoping to make a profit. He obviously knows little about Gilberns. It has some unusual body mods with a Rover V8 and autobox.

Hi All
I wonder if the current seller has fixed any of the problems listed below copied from the original owners description when the car was for sale on EBAY in September which had what Ithought was a very honest description of the cars condition.

Paintwork is generally good with some minor areas needing attention.. The exhaust fitters damaged the off side manifold and it is blowing slightly. The paintwork is bubbling in 4 areas and there is still a certain amount of work to do if you want to bring it up to top condition. The tyres whilst having good tread have not liked being stood in one place for a long time.

I agree with Red looks like somebody is expecting to make a quick profit.

Still must get rid of some of my toys first then will be seriously looking for a MKIII again.
I should never have sold my first MKIII.

Regards Peter

Hi All

It sold for £3980 so he made a profit of £880 in two months.

Unless he got one of his mates to bid it up and will mark sale as completed, pay small fees and re list another time

In september the seller was m400sjb which are the initials and location of the previous owner of 28 years in Devon. Earlier this month it was in Car and Classic for £5495, if it sold for £3980 maybe someone has got a bargain.
Cheers
