Hi all we have a Gilbern in work which is having body off. Is there a link.to where the body mounts are?
We are a small workshop in Cardiff and are proud to be working on one of own kind.
Thanks for any help.

Can't help I'm afraid, but I'd be very interested to see any photos of the work you've done as mine is going to need some extensive work next year.

Re: Body off Invader?
Hi, easier said than done! General recommendations are to cut out sections of the bodywork to access the rusty bits leaving the whole shell in place.
The bodyshell is pop-riveted to the chassis wherever it touches, along the top of the cill section, along the seat support rails, from the rear seat area etc. etc. the body was originally laid in place and lined up then riveted, the the rivets were covered with fibre glass, you will need to chisel off this layer then drill out the rivets. You will also need to cut around the bulkhead section as this stays attached to the chassis and has to be removed if necessary later.
There are no aligning points to help re-fitting the body, only any rivet holes that remain in place in the fibre glass.
So unless the chassis is completely shot, or you need access to the bulkhead or door hinge bits it is easier to work through cut out sections as then both the chassis and body remain 'square'. Bear in mind that no chassis or body was truly 'square' from new.
