GT B.100146 has successfully moved from the frozen lands of Minneapolis Minnesota to the slightly milder climate of Seattle Washington.
I was fortunate enough to acquire long time owner Mark Brandow's beautiful GT and bring it west to share my garage with my GT B.100198, which has been off the road and in a 'project' state for some years.
I have read that only 4 LHD GTs were imported into the US. B.100146 is one of them. I understand that one was scrapped many years ago and at the present time I don't know the fate of the other two, if indeed only 4 were imported.
I plan to write up a more complete report on all this for the Rarebit after the first on the year.

Re: West Coast Migration
Hi Jim,
As far as I can tell 5 LHD GT's were imported to the USA, the first 3 cars being B.100121, 100122 & 100123, of which 123 ended up with Bob Fairbanks as just a rolling chassis, so I think we must presume that this was the car that was destroyed by fire.
The other 2 cars were B.100140 & your own car B.100146.
Regards
Brian

Re: West Coast Migration
Thanks, Brian.
I remember cooresponding with Bob Fairbanks back in the 80s. As far as I know his chassis was eventually scrapped.
Another LHD GT was recently offered for sale

I don't know which of the remaining cars it is, or if it was eventually sold. I am quite happy with the one I have.

Re: West Coast Migration
Hi Jim,
Yes Bob Fairbanks had a complete RHD GT, B.100152 which was last recorded as being with a Robert Williams in the US, Bob also had the LHD rolling chassis, which indeed he did break up as nobody was interested in buying it at the time. We think that this was chassis B.100123, but that is only an assumption, based on the fact that the first cars were sent in a batch of 3, and that chassis number has so far not turned up in the UK.
The LHD car recently for sale was B.100140, the owner was a not a club member.
