Gilbern GT

Postby TFynn » Tue Nov 19, 2019 2:57 pm

Hi There

My Dad has a Gilbern GT in the garage, it hasn't moved for a good number of years.

I've always been interested in it but never taken the time to have a proper look around it or to ask much about it.

I've been doing a bit of research on Gilberns history and specifically the GT, I've hit a rut on your website and any other site I look on I can only see that the chassis numbers when from A10010-A10019 then with the engine change to B01020- B100240 the to C chassis numbers.

The GT in our garage is from 1962 and has a chassis number of A10023 ? the number plate is YFV77 and it is fitted with what I believe is a Pre Crossflow Ford engine of some sort.

I would love to put time into restoring the car and would like if anyone could give me some more information on the car.

Thanks
TFynn

Hi there,

So you must be Roger's son, I first spoke with your father about the car in August 2009 and have kept in touch with him from time to time over the car, I last wrote to him in August last year, I understand it was taken off the road due to a worn steering box, re-con boxes can now be purchased from Ray Davis the Austin A35 specialist in London.

If you would like to know more about the car then do email me on briangent57@gmail.com or call me on 07850-001186.
