Auxiliary heater

Hi,
Wasn't quite sure where to post this. Ahead of actually sorting out my heater, which admittedly I need to do, has anyone had any luck with one of those demist units that plug into a cig socket? There seem to be loads about for 12 quid, but I'm guessing you need to spend a bit more for something that actually works?

Hi Jon, perhaps not a representative sample- I bought one of these some years ago (not for a Gilbern) it would not have been expensive. I found that it demisted the screen immediately above the heater but it had no spread. I had to keep moving it along the dash, but as it cleared the second area the first misted up again!
You would probably need 3 or 4 across a Gilbern dash. Of course a more expensive one should perhaps be better?
