Re: This Forum - New Member Start Here
A good evening to all you Gilbern owners and enthusiasts, just a quick introduction about mysef and my two Gilbern Genie's. AGT 107G (red) G1131 which iv'e owned for about twenty months, is currenty stripped down and being prepared for a total respray at my mates workshop, Old School Engineering (rally car builders and classic car restoration specialists) in Blaencwm, in the Rhondda Valley, chassis has previously been restored and the car is mechanicaly sound, hope to have it finished for the summer.
WTG 180H (green) G1177 I bought about eighteen months ago for spares, as the chassis was rotten, but I felt guilty if I was to cut it up and scrap it, so I got hold of another chassis which is being repaired and strengthend, as my plans are to build it for classic rallying / track days.
My other classic car is a 1972 Jensen Interceptor 111 but thats another story for another day.
I live at the top end of the Rhondda Valley and if any of you are passing through, the kettle is always on.
Kind regards
Gary.

new Terms & Conditions
Hi, I am Colin and I have a Gilbern Invader GT Estate II in the process of making roadworthy. I have just joined the GOC.
I am located in Newton Abbot, S.Devon and would be interested to hear from anyone who is interested in Gilberns or Lotus cars.
Does anyone know the details of a Panhard rod fitment to the axle of an Invader GT?

Welcome Colin, I expect you've already had a call from Grahame Slope (greybags on this Forum), the Estate Historian, who lives on your doorstep in Plymouth.
Regards,
Derek

Hello everyone
I've registered because we used to have an Invader Estate in the mid-1970s, and I've found a spare windscreen in the cellar.
I'll post in the chat forum.

Hi my names Phil James and I have eventually got round to putting a 'post' on the forum (bit of an novice with this forum stuff).
I have run a Mk1 Invader for the last 10 years and have enjoyed every mile I have put on it.
I love the style of the Invader and when I saw the rotting heap all those years ago I just had to have it.
The car was in a sorry state and had been unused going mouldy for the previous 5 years, I attacked it with vigour over the next 2 years
and ended up with a practical, reliable classic which I intend to keep into my dotage (this may have already started).
Hope I can make a useful contribution to the forum.
Cheers
Phil

Hi phil,
Glad to see that you managed to escape from the NEC OK, by the time I reached the M42 I was down to 4 cylinders, due to vapour locking. Nice to see you are venturing into online 'virtual' Gilbern Ownership and look forward to your input to the ongoing discussions.
regards Stuart.

Hi everyone,
I am a new member in the Glasgow and am currently looking at the possibility of becoming a Gilbern owner. I just need to see one in the flesh. Despite my advanced years and being a life long petrolhead I have never seen a Gilbern.

Hi Sylvain,
I am a Welshman now living in Australia. I've had both an Invader Mk1 and an Invader MK2 at different times when I lived in the UK.
Now I am the custodian of the only Genie here in Australia.
Richard.

Re: This Forum - New Member Start Here
Hi Folks, just re-read the Blog intro and realised I should submit some details about myself. Had a late Genie just over 10 years ago and joined the club but never got the beast on the road, too many projects, so passed it on to someone else. A few months back decided to buy another one, as I usually do, spent too much on a car that was probably not worth it but after a bit of fiddling it passed the MOT last Friday so I have now driven a Gilbern on the road properly.
Have owned a range of classics, Clan Crusaders, Sunbeam Alpine, 2002 BMWs, a 3.0 CSi, a Daimler 2 door coupe, a GTM Rossa and a few others as well. Currently have a 1977 Stag (my second Stag) which shares the garage with my recently aquired Genie.

Hi, my name is John Davidson. I've owned my Genie RRT 409F for a couple of
years now and thought I'd have a look at The Forum...The car runs, but there's
lots to do!
