I haven't been on this site in 10 years or better. I still own my 1965 Gilbern GT. It has 33,000 miles on it and I have the original sales brochure. I have the warrantee for the tires installed in 1969 with the serial numbers listed on the form and the tires on the car match the warrantee. I will sell the car bout only to someone in the USA. Shipping is too expensive as I have found out a few years ago.

I had forgotten the gilbern name, was just browsing the internet when out of nowhere gilbern invader popped into my head. Loved these cars as a teenager in the 70,s, great to read up about the technicalities and the other lesser known models. Well done on a nice site, thanks for all the pics bringing the memories back. Good luck for the future and all gilbern enthusiasts keeping a great british (er Welsh) car alive. :D

I only recently found out about Gilbern Cars. Bernard was my grandfather, although I never really knew him. Very interesting to find out about them!

Just to let you know I had a great time at the national meet on Sunday seeing these cars and chating to some off the owners and have added photos and links on my website, just search for "thepetrolstop.com".

Cheers

Great site, very easy to get around. It is a shame this Welsh made car died the death. Although basic in its mechanics, it was a handsome shape, the invader in particular looked the part (I think I spotted one in the film 'Freebird' parked outside the pub). The Invader shape could be modified to suit the modern market and now bought in drive sets are relatively cheap, I think it would have a good market. If the members here had a few spare bob, they could avoid using parasitic banks to finance the operation. It could be done!
