Next Bit Completed

Postby Greybags » Thu Mar 19, 2009 5:28 pm

With the warmer weather now here, I can spend a bit more time in the garage repairing each panel as I go.

Completed the bonnet now ..

Repaired the damage to the bonnet inflicted by a previous owner fitting an old wire mesh sports air filter that was too tall and then slamming the bonnet down, luckily (I suppose) the carb wasn't damaged as well.

Any way all stripped, repaired, backets for an auto bonnet stay fabricated and fitted, and primed and aligned so a reasonable gap all the way round ...

Drivers door next, thats could take a bit longer as it has been spilt all down the seam, as aparently a previous owner reversed it out of the garage with the drivers door open and it caught in the entrance and split the door ..

All to keep people like me busy I suppose....

Nice looking job Grahame.

Just an aside.... is that your Honda Accord Tourer in the background?

If so we have lots in common, both with decent modern tin and decent classic in the garage

Just out of curiousity, Wayne, how did you manage to get 'decent', 'modern', and 'tin' all in the same sentence?

Now if Honda made a Gilbern.... :D no more break downs, free mot's while you own the car, fixed servicing costs, car always washed and valeted after a service...etc!

Mine's a diesel, all the bags and whistles, larger wheels and rubber bands for tyres! I've also added a power box that increases the bhp by 50 at the flick of a switch! So I can have the economy and then flick the switch and roar down the road or increased torque for towing the caravan

Wayne.
