Touring Germany

Postby Sabine » Tue Oct 13, 2009 9:07 pm

Dear Gilbern Owners and friends, :P

as some of you already know: Olaf and I do (in addition to our "normal jobs") plan car tours for older or younger cars and - most important of all - for nice, friendly people and car lovers!
This saison we did not have too much time (due to moving house and other things), but for next year we want to offer a couple of really nice tours to which we would also like to invite people from England - and hope that some of you will follow this invitation :D

This is part of the tours we intend to organise:

April 30th - May 3rd: Rhine-Valley Spectacular Lightning Tour I
We will cruise along Germany`s most popular River with its outstanding landscape and castles - a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Friday night we will stop to see spectacular fireworks over the river. On Saturday we will visit the next fireworks-festival "Rhine in Flames" which starts at Linz and then goes along down the river to Bonn. If visitors are interested, we can book a boat-tour for this event - early booking is important for that. On Sunday we can do a "sightseeing-drive" and view the famous Petersberg (Guesthouse of the German Government and public Hotel-Restaurant) or the Adenauer-House in Bad Honnef (home of our former Chancelor). We can also visit some locations from which we have wonderful views on the Rhine. If you wish we can also go to the lovely Ahr-Valley with its impressive Wineyards and old villages and stop at the "German Government Bunker Vistors Center".

September 3rd - 6th: Mosel-Valley Tour
We get to know the unique Mosel-Valley with its wineyards, bending streets, hills and picture-book-villages. On Saturday afternoon we stop at a Wine-Festival and look at the most impressing Fireworks that we know -the sound of the fireworks echoes two or three times in the valley and makes this an unforgetable, unique sound experience. Details and prices will follow.

September 17th - 20th: Rhine-Valley Spectacular Lightning TourII
Another fireworks-tour along the Rhine. This time we visit the Rhine in Flames event at St. Goar/St. Goarshausen, which is famous for the Loreley-cliff. We cruise along the River iwith its outstanding landscape, villages and castles. Saturday evening we view the fireworks. Sunday we offer a "sightseeing-drive" and view the famous Petersberg (Guesthouse of the German Government and public Hotel-Restaurant) or the Adenauer-House in Bad Honnef (home of our former Chancelor). Also we can stop at Erpel, opposite to Remagen where we can see the ruins of the Brigde of Remagen and go to a village Wine Festival with an impressive Flower-Parade. Details of the Tour and Prices follow.

October 1st - 4th: Rhine-Ahr-Eifel-Tour
We show you parts of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage "Middle-Rhine-Valley" and hope to present you (has to be confirmed) also the event "Rheinpartie" which is a unique feasts for the senses. Artists show light-installations and illuminations on the cliffs and castles or other historic buildings along the Rhine valley. On this Tour we also visit the Ahr-valley - the northernmost area in the World for growing wine. The valley is also called the "Valley of the Red Grapes". We pass the historic villages there and then experience driving through parts of the Eifel - a vulcanic region with wonderfull streets and views. Also here is the famous Nurburgring – a must have on that trip! Details and prices follow.

Cheery-Wine-Tour
The Pfalz-Forrest is on of the biggest forrest areas and one of the most beautiful as well. Here you can enjoy nature and the art of living - idyllic cottages invite us for a rest with typical dishes and wine from the vines that we pass along our way. We show you wonderful routes here - an insider tip for bon vivants! Dates depend on the announcements. We would like to offer you this tour on May 14-17, June 11-14 or June 18-21.

We will also offer a special The Ruhr-Tour.
The area in the northwest of Germany has traditionally been the biggest industrial area in Germany. Coalmines and coke oven plants ruled the picture of this region. nowadays the region has undergone a structural change. but impressive parts of the "old times" are still there and can be visited. Also the Ruhr is not only urban and industrial like one huge city. it also has a lot of nature to enjoy and opportunities to enjoy the life and visits there.
We will drive this tour in spring or summer, but only in case we have enough participants, so people interested in this particular journey should get in touch with us as early as possible.

Hopefully we can spark interest in these journeys in GB – what more can I say: We would be happy and feel extremely honored to see anyone of your over here for some hopefully unforgetable days.

All the best and always good and safe journeys,
cheers,

Sabine
