Hi, please dont scrap it, well at least until with have exhaused this thread.
I suppose like many owners I saw your posting and thought someone else will get in touch, obviously we all thought the same.
First a few of questions. Do you know what state the chassis is in, is it rotten? Secondly I assume its mobile, ie it can be trailored away?. Lastly what state is the engine in ie last run x years ago?
Is it free for collection or do you want some monies for it.
Based upon these we can assess if its a restoration or spares issue and then arrange for collection.
If you don't want to answer all these questions on-line pm me
Any members in the Warrington area able to assist in the collection, I can store it pending final home but I'm 150 miles away.
Any Interest?

Re: Any Interest?
Hi
I'm the Estate historian for the Club and would love some details of the car please for our archive, especially if you have a case of litrature, if you dont want the documentation then I would dearly love it for the archive.
Interestingly the reg numbes you quote are both shown as being for Mk2's and not shown on the records as an Estate.. ONK 872K is shown as being a white car, but I have no details for CPM 50K.
Could you get the chassis number off the chassis on the offside Chassis member in the engine bay, by the suspension mounts, or from the documentation that refers to the Estate, as this may be one of the missing cars that I am always trying to find, or it could be wrongly recorded as a saloon instead of an Estate either way it's only by searching through the documentation you have that we can sort out it's history.
Please let me have some details, and please if you do sell it pass my details on to the new owner..
My e-mail address is at the bottem of the post.
The more detail you provide on here the more likely to get a buyer, as I know that their are a couple of people looking for Estates.

Re: Any Interest?
Just to clarify ...
The car has always been an Estate, but has been recorded in the club archives as just a Mk2 not as an Estate. So this is a bit of a "new" Estate find.
I have looked through the pictures and it doesn't look like a project for the faint hearted, appears to be fairly complete mechanically, but no glass or interior, and what can be seen of the chassis looks well crusted.
More of a long term project rather than a quick fix. But do-able for those who like a challenge..
Anyone able to rescue it.

Re: Any Interest?
Thanks Beachbuggyman for offering the club the opportunity to rescue this car. I understand from you conversations with Grahame, and his with others, that unless someone wants a BIG job this is sadly one which will have to go.
So members out there, this is your lasrt chance, speak now or it will forever be in pieces.
Bye bye CPM 50K

Re: Any Interest?
i think this is the problem as ive said before with gilbern values, with low values on condition 2 cars unless its for the personal pleasure of bringing the car back from the dead for your own personal satisfaction, the finished cond 2 estate will cost less than restoring this one to condition 2 , if ya takes mi point an all that................whereas if the values were higher there may be more of a temptation to restore a car with new parts for less than a shiny one.......
as my uncle frank always said" it never rains in the tap room"

Re: Any Interest?
Sorry Guys. Have spoken with the missus, and unfortunately we both agree that however much we'd like to rescue this car, the MkI we already rescued earlier this year is enough for now. Shame it comes at a cost to get it, because it'll cost more than it's worth to restore. I'd guess that a body off resto will set you back £4-£5k at least.
Also Beachbuggyman, can't you pick up the bits you want on e-bay for the capri. Essex V6's go on there every week for pounds! The engine will go into a capri for sure, but there are some mods that mean an engine out of a capri wont go straight into a Gilbern, so please try to find a home for this car and keep it complete.
Best of luck,
