I am looking to replace my fomoco distributor (black cap).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I cannot find bosch type and roger has something similar to fomoco. I have seen a SIERRA MK1 XR4i DISTRIBUTOR & CAPRI MK3 2.8iV6 DISTRIBUTOR would these be an alternative.
Also I would like to go electronic.

Re: Distributor
I suggest you try Queensbury Road garage Kettering. ( Nigel)
I am fairly certain they have a bosch unit for the V6. They also do Luminition kits.
The 2.8 unit requires and external amplifier as well as the distributor, but I am sure Nigel will be able to assist and answer that question.

Re: Distributor
As discussed before in the 3ltr Tech Section, once you get rid of the points and go electronic the Formoco unit is perfectly ok;
even if there is some play in the bearings it will function just fine. When I took my Mk1 to Rick Woods Dyno I asked if there would be any advantage getting a 'Sports' dissy for improved advance curve, Rick said it would be a waste of money. I'am using the Aldon Ignition sytem (magnetic switching) and getting 160 BHP at the wheels.
