Harewood hill climb

Postby Tree man » Mon Aug 09, 2010 5:25 pm

More tinkering produced a good result, knocking more than 4secs of my time last year to bring it into the 73's. May not sound a lot but that's a huge difference on the track. I was joined by a colleague in gorgeous 3l Marcos, but is was his first time out and also had fueling problems (big Holley carb :( ) and so was several seconds behind me. I would imagine it will get a lot closer by the end of the season.
The new Trans X plate diff has transformed the handling allowing much better use of the power. Previously I had a Quaiffe ATB which really didn't suit the aggresive driving required for hill climbing.
I had hoped for some video footage but rather mysteriously my Sony Handycam stopped recording as I approached the start line and started again past the finish line. This happened three times and so I can only assume ther was some sort of unintentional/intentional interference (how would that work??).
I'm at Gurston next http://www.gurstondown.org/ on the 28th and 29th August.
I've got the car booked in for a rolling road session a few days before and I'll post the results for comment.
