Fitting of front windscreen !!!!!AAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!
The fitting of my front windscreen is not going well. After breaking it trying to get it to fit the new rubber supplied by roger spares, the turn around in the arrival of the replacement one was very quick. But I`m still having problems with the new rubber as it doesn`t fit my car.The profile for the body side isn`t deep enough for the fibreglass. So I`m going down the route of trying a scimitar se5a one.Have tried one of a friends and it seems to work although its too short, a longer one is on order.so we`ll see how it goes when it arrives next week. The tailgate rubber saga seems to be drawing to a close with some possiblities on offer from Pheonix trim, many thanks to Grahame Slope. So will keep all who are following this saga posted.

Hi, I assume we're talking here about an Invader, I had a similar problem with my new "Mini "windscreen rubber, I was fortunate enough to have a professional windscreen fitter mate to do mine for me , he told me there was a large and small section "Mini" rubber , he only had the small one at the time it was hell to try to fit ,we gave up and he came round another day with the larger profile and the screen just dropped in perfectly this may not be your problem but it's worth knowing about , if you look at the two sections there is a marked difference. If you want any more info or possibly a piece of both sections I may be able to send them to you to check yours ( as long as I can get hold of my illusive mate).

Just had a chat with my illusive mate, he tells me that when he said Mini seal he didn't mean Mini car seal, the seal he used was the stuff he uses on farm machinery screens etc you can get it from suppliers around the country and a lot cheaper than the dealers ,I can find out the suppliers name again if you want,he did tell me but old age has set in and I've forgotten,he mentioned that he sold some to a fella for his boat as it is used widely on boats too.
