I have a 1969 Invader MK1, some say its the first Invader, the gold one for the 1969 Earls Court motor show, but the chassis number is 1011, which to me makes the 11th, the silver car that was also at the show is chassis number 3, as I'm led to believe number 2 was written off.
Can anyone shine a light on this, is my car number 1 or number 11

Re: Invader MK1
I don't have any records for a 1001 chassis number, the 1st known MK1 is listed as 1002...
1003 was the factory test car and appeared in the Motor road test in October 69.
I have notes that your car was the Motor Show car, but it was not the first, or apparently the 11th. It would seem it was the 10th chassis built.
But this is Gilbern, and anything goes. There are many gaps in the records about the cars, and the more we find out, it seems the more questions we raise..
Hopefully someone may be able to shed some more light on this and we can all fill in another bit of missing history.
