Dear Speed Weed,
Sorry that you are feeling unloved down in France, please remember we are a club of only 350 members of which only about 80 are registered for this Forum, if you would like to know anything about your car historically or mechanically then please feel free to contact the appropriate Historian or Technical adviser as listed inside the front and rear cover of the Rarebit, they will only be too happy to help.

Re: New Member requires lots of info
Hello Rob,
Apologies for not responding earlier, it must have been one of those rare occasions when personal life overtook my Gilbern existence! As you will have noticed we even talk to those criminal types from 'Down Under', so residing in France should not be a problem and you can even contemplate a nice drive to future Gilbern Events in the UK. What triggered your interest in Gilbern's are you an exiled Welshman? Is your car on the road or are you still trying to fit the 2CV engine? I have driven my Mk1 over to France three times so far, the first trip was down to the Riviera and the Italian Border in 1978, four years a go we attended the Le Mans Classic with 2 Invaders and a couple of years ago we went from Calais up through Belgium and Germany to attend the Schloss Dyke Classic Event, near Monchengladbach. I'am now completing my second total Gilbern rebuild, first the Mk1 and currently a Mk3. and Usually ready to provide help or Info via the Blog!
Best regards, Stuart.

Re: New Member requires lots of info
best place for old parts has to be the big Autojumble at Beaulieu in September.. I know a lot of members go as I usually meet a load of them there..
Obviously a long way from France, but expect someone that is going would look out for the parts you want while they are there...
Love to see some pictures of the car "collection", and as for the Skoda ... How about a 66
