Hi all, have been thinking about a Gilbern for a while...I know little about the cars other than what is readily available on the web.
I've owned older cars in a similar mould (pardon the pun) such as Reliant Scimitars etc.
I've also got some 70-80s Ford product in my back catalogue too so I think a MK3 Invader best suits my requirements. I also really like the styling mods applied to the MK3 to accommodate the additional track.
Does anybody know of any MK3s which are / maybe available? I'd prefer not to get into a total resto but don't mind some recommissioning, mechanical or cosmetic sorting out (or a combination of all!).
I know these cars (much the same as contemporary cars) suffer chassis corrosion & don't really fancy taking one on with a terminally rotten chassis but obviously anything is worth consideration as I appreciate that there aren't exactly a surfeit of these cars!
Any help / guidance / input is welcome.
Cheers Stew.

Hi Stew and welcome..
Hopefully Brian will be along at some point, as he usually has an ear to the ground as to what cars are on the market..
Let us know what you do get...

Yep, been in touch with Brian...and a very nice chap he is too!
Appears to be slim pickings at the moment - there isn't exactly a surfeit of Gilberns which is a significant part of the attraction!
Cheers,
Stew

Re: Thinking about an Invader
Extremely rare advert in this weeks Classic Car Weekly, 4 Gilberns for sale, 3 with the same phone number including an Estate in Shropshire. Plus 1 more listed as in Wales.
But alas no MK3's
