I know the club has an excellent Spares Department but how do you go about looking for general items like bulbs ect and would you look for engine parts by searching for the Essex 3 ltr or do you need to be more specific.
What size of battery would you need for a Genie and when searching would you look under any other
car manufacturer than just Gilbern.
Thanks in advance for any help given.

Re: General Parts
Hi Andy, can't help you with your other request for access but may be able to help with your request for spares info as I was the previous spares man before Brian who is away at present.
Where are you trying to search? In GoC records? If so we no longer list available spares as it is much too time consuming to keep up to date and can vary from month to month, a simple request to Brian for what you want is easiest.
We do not stock much in the way of engine parts as they are readily available elsewhere and we cannot compete on price, yes search for Essex V6 but bear in mind if your engine is still original it will be the early type but may have been replaced with a later type.
We can hopefully advise you which is which.
As for batteries, the original batteries will not be in production after nearly 50 years and will not be listed under any other vehicle to day, if you want strict originality then there are manufacturers who will fit modern internals into an old type casing, if you are just looking for a battery that will fit then a visit to a supplier with your dimensions should suffice.
