The weather was dreadful with constant heavy rain only letting up later in the day and the organisation was a bit slack leading to plenty of confusion throughout the day. I was well off the pace most of the day being easily beaten by most of the cars in my class. The competition tyres couldn't shift the water quick enough and a very stiff set up meant I was skating all over the place. Cars with road tyres and suspension coped far better. However as the day dried (just wet instead of drowning) I was knocking far more seconds of my times than the opposition and squeeked home with the fastest time of the day in my class
Unfortunately I received no trophy as because of a mix up in the classes by the organisers the second place runner was offered the trophy and left before the mistake was identified
I will be defending my class lead in the HSA championship with my next outing at Doune in Scotland (19th 20th June) and then Prescott Hill Climb (26th 27th June)
